Jason R. Piper

Autodidact Artist | Curator | Entrepreneur

Jason R. Piper is an Australian-born, Canadian-raised visual artist whose work is fueled by a singular philosophy: Belief in Art. As a self-taught creator, Jason’s journey began in Townsville, North Queensland, before his family relocated to Ontario in the early 90s. His artistic evolution took him from the rugged inspiration of Thunder Bay to the heart of Southern Ontario, where he founded his professional practice, The Works of Jason R. Piper, in 2013. Today, he operates out of the historic Galt area in Cambridge, serving as a pillar of the Waterloo Region’s creative community.

Curation & Community Impact

Beyond the studio, Jason is a prolific curator and community organizer. He is the founder of the Phalanx Art Guild, a collective designed to bridge the gap between local talent and public spaces. Through his "Mural Team," Jason leads large-scale projects aimed at brightening urban landscapes and making fine art accessible to everyone.

Notable Curatorial & Exhibition Highlights:

• Festivals: Lead Curator for Hold the Line (St. Agatha) and Craftoberfest (Kitchener).

• Venues: Featured artist and curator for Williams Café (DTK/Waterloo), Princess Twin Cinema, and Block 3 Brewery.

• Metropolitan Showings: Exhibition history includes Khao San Road (Toronto), TWB Brewery, and The Boathouse.
